Base ply and cap sheet
The Base Ply: A waterproof sheet is laid over the foam first. This is your “under-layer.”
- EnergyGuard Cap Sheet: A thick, rubberized top layer with a sand-like gravel surface(granules).
- Why it’s special: The white granules reflect the sun like a mirror, keeping the roof cold.
- Counter flashing: A metal strip that “tucks” the roofing membrane into the wall so water can’t get behind it.
- Coping Cap: A metal “hat” that covers the very top of the wall.
